When we were kids, the Internet was a marvel, bright, and shining with possibility. In 1991, Tim Berners-Lee brought us the worldwide web and opened the Internet to all. Key to the early web, and now overlooked or forgotten, was the principle that anyone could build a website just by learning HTML. I'd like to show how engineering teams, designers-turned-developers, and web beginners can take up recently introduced web features to get back to a web that's easier to build. We've been busy doing web development an older/harder way so we haven't even noticed there's a new, easier way.
